Butan X Strictly Soul

The season started in September last year.

We launched the season with the Heineken Polo curated by Strictly Soul.

Launched in Durban in September - where we have since established a relationship with La Parada Umhlanga and are building our community on the ground.

In December we did 7 events including in Katlehong, Gaborone, and a special NYE edition at Studio at the Rockefeller Hotel.

Partnered with Everyday People to bring 2 nearly flawless events in JHB and CPT

In January Anita and Akio were hosted by Heineken at the L’Ormarins Kings Plate horse races. We love the strength and growth of that partnership.

In February we launched Strictly Hip Hop with a sold-out Bas (Dreamville) concert at Katy’s Palace. Butan sponsored the rap battle. 

 We partnered with Steyn Entertainment on In The City ft Jacob Banks in March. We curated the DJ line-up bringing onstage Landlord, Finessa Williams, and Fort Noks as well as delivering a quintessential Akio Strictly Soul set. Reached a new, even wider audience.

In April we launched in Dar es Salaam with a sold out 600 person show that was the most talked about event of the weekend.

In May we launched in Windhoek with a sold-out event at Stratos at Avani Hotel. The venue, people, and vibe were flawless and we can’t wait to return.

In May we launched Strictly Soul Live at La Parada Parkmore with new RnB songstress, Mia, helping promote her debut EP and singles “What is Love?” and “Closer”

Going into our Winter break. Watch the Strictly Soul Instagram as Akio and Anita take Africa’s largest RnB party to Europe and the States.
