Butan Spaza - Brand Story

Paying homage to the sign writing and illustrations found on spaza shops in and around South African townships, the Spaza range celebrates the incredible creativity that thrives despite  hardship and the lack of resources.

First seen in 2015 offered as a crewneck sweater, the Butan Spaza range has seen 2 further iterations. Summer 2019, a 2 piece vest and bucket hat range was released and Summer 2020 a 3 piece reversible bucket hat, short sleeve t-shirt and nylon shorts made their to stores.
